Science Rooted in Regenerative Organic Agriculture

Our Mission & Vision

Hudson Carbon is rooted in regenerative and organic agriculture. Our work is driven by the understanding that regenerative agriculture is a journey towards a more biomimetic system of agriculture, and organic agriculture can and be the ultimate destination. We recognize that regenerative and organic agriculture are deeply embedded in the broader agroecology movement, which emphasizes producing food in harmony with natural cycles and processes.

We work to prove that regenerative organic agriculture, rooted in agroecological principles, can serve as the foundation for strong, healthy regional food systems that restore the culture to agriculture—creating resilient, diversified farm systems that support both ecological health and rural economic prosperity.

We employ a comprehensive approach that bridges soil science, ecology, microbiology, biogeochemistry, economics, and social science to understand and advance regenerative & organic agriculture in the northeastern United States and beyond. Through both foundational and applied research, we work to close the critical knowledge gaps between science, policy, and practice.
